About the Shirebrook Growth Plan

We want Shirebrook to be a place where you really like to live in. A place where you can find a home; find employment or grow your business; support and take pride in your town centre and to enjoy your leisure time. We want to understand your views about Shirebrook and your ambitions for the future, so we can prepare a Growth Plan.

The Growth Plan, to be prepared by Bolsover District Council, will set out how the town will change over the next five years and beyond. It will cover the key topics of the town centre and marketplace, jobs and economic opportunity, homes, services and leisure, and access to nature and the environment. It will set out how we will improve these aspects of Shirebrook over the next five years and beyond, and the outcomes we will work to achieve. It will be prepared during 2022. It is essential that the community is involved right from the start of the process, which is why we are running this initial survey.

What will happen to my feedback?

This survey will be open until 31st March 2022. We aim to gather as many responses as possible, and we are promoting the survey through social media, email and community groups. We will analyse the results and publish the findings in May 2022.

In the summer we will run a second consultation on more detailed options and ideas, before we finalise the Growth Plan.
